Ways to increase your fertility naturally

Are you guys thinking of trying for a baby yet? You are? Great! I heard of some great ways to to provide you the best chance of getting pregnant without outside help. Even if you do require the treatments, I believe these ideas can really help to make the treatments more successful as well. Here are some ideas:

· Learn how to see when you are most fertile. If you want to conceive you need to know when is the best time for the baby dance so you need to know when you are ovulating. You’ll also get better at knowing when to anticipate ‘that time of the month’ – which will assist you to note when you’re behind schedule! Normally you can confirm when you ovulate by taking your temperature the instant you wake up in the morning. Make a note of these numbers on a graph and you should notice that your waking temperature (also called your basal body temperature) rises around the time of ovulation. As unpleasant as it sounds you can also check your cervical mucus because it looks and feels like egg white when you are ovulating – this makes it easier for the spermies to reach the egg.

· Have lots of sex.

· Get into position. Various sexual positions more effective for getting pregnant than others. You want all the help you can get when you’re trying for a baby so let gravity work with you and not against you by avoiding positions with the woman on top. Use positions that permit the deepest penetration for best results; finding them is half the fun! Apparently there’s an old wives tale that says that holding your legs in the air for half an hour after sex can help – feel free to try!

· Prenatal vitamins are important. You need supplements to operate at your peak – and this includes your reproductive equipment. Also, when you do get pregnant you can be positive that you will have provided your baby the best starts possible because of the extra folic acid and all that.

· Have more sex.

· Eat healthy foods. You should try and keep your weight in check when you’re trying to conceive. If you’re overweight your estrogen levels will be elevated and if you’re too skinny your body might stop ovulating. So what better excuse to get going on that food plan you’ve been meaning to try!

· Have even more sexual intercourse.

· Get fit. This will help to keep your weight within healthy limits and will prepare your body for your pregnancy; growing and carrying a baby around is hard work! Just don’t exercise too much because then your body might stop releasing eggs.

· Stay away from toxins. That includes giving up caffeine, smoking and alcohol which are all known to affect fertility negatively. Cutting out these substances now is good preparation for the pregnancy. Check with your doctor on the safety of any other medication you are using.

· Wear boxers. Guys, constricting undies can decrease your sperm count or damage your sperm because it just gets too hot down there. Heat damages sperm so make sure you take frequent breaks if you sit at a desk all day.

· Relax! Despite the fact that we keep hearing differing ideas about the links between stress and infertility, we all know that stress strains your system and can bring about depression – neither of which is good for fertility!

It undoubtedly won’t do any harm to try out some of these ways to . Even if you do require medical support to get pregnant, if you put these ideas into practice you’ll experience a healthier pregnancy, a healthier baby and a healthier life – that sounds like a win, win, win situation to me!
