Gift Ideas To Include In Your Baby Gift Registry
If you know someone who is expecting a baby, you may be planning a baby shower. This can be a wonderful way for you to demonstrate to a mother to be how much you are thinking of her. In the past, it has been difficult for some guests to choose gifts and many popular items were often duplicated. If you have children of your own, you can likely remember the mountain of washcloths and swaddling blankets that you received as gifts from well meaning friends.
One of the most exciting developments has been the creation of the baby gift registry. This is much the same as a wedding gift registry or one that couples will create when they purchase their first home. Unlike these other registries, it features a variety of baby-related gifts that cover a range of price points. Whether it is a large ticket item like bedding, a new car seat or a Perego stroller, or other less expensive items, baby gift registries have been a lifesaver for many people attending showers.
A great choice of gifts priced more in the middle range includes a Philips baby monitor. This could be one of the higher end models of monitor or it could be part of an entire baby-proofing and safety gift set. By picking a range of different baby safety items your guests can feel happy knowing that your new child will be kept as safe and healthy as possible when it comes home. Some monitors can be quite highly priced especially if they have breathing sensors or video capabilities.
A good lower end gift could include baby bath tubs, washcloths or towels. These are nice because a guest can always fill a bathtub with items of clothing, diapers or other personal care items. For this reason you want to make sure that you include a large number of these items on your list. You may think that it is unnecessary to have a huge number of cloth items on hand but you may find that you have need of them once the baby is home.
If you are someone who loves to surprise the recipient of your gifts, you may worry that the registry takes the surprise out of gift giving. This is not always the case. It helps to make sure that the parents are getting items which they need and want and can help prevent duplication of certain items. But, if you are still not convinced, you may want to think about taking items from the registry and using them in new and exciting ways.
You should not worry about getting multiples of smaller items. However, if you are worried you will receive two monitors or strollers you might want to make sure that your guests can include gift receipts. Not all places which offer baby registries offer these receipts so it is definitely something to keep in mind when you are planning where to set up your registry.
If you are a guest at an upcoming baby shower, you may find that it is so helpful that you wish everyone would create one. As a parent who may be creating a registry, you can look forward to your shower knowing that the days of too many pairs of first shoes is firmly in the past.
