Malachi 1-4 Feedback from folks on what they discovered useful throughout our Outdated Testament journey: The Old Testomony has assisted me understand the human nature of us messing things up, then reaching out to God, Him assisting, then we go back again to messing it up once more. That’s me inside a nutshell. When I was being persecuted at work…I was in beneficial corporation with all the characters within the bible. I discovered that God desires to talk with us. The Outdated Testomony walk taught me to pray. I saw how affected person God is with us as he molds our hearts, and his determination to complete it. Out of pure and perfect love he continues to pursue our hearts relentlessly. To know God loves me like that’s priceless.!!! These two years have assisted me understand that I must lead my lifestyle for God, not me. I really feel I’ve had a King David life – powerful for a beneficial whilst, off for any lengthy while. I’m weak in the location of prayer. Through this OT journey, numerous characters have learned the power of fellowship with God. I’ve nevertheless to completely live in a very life of prayer. Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth…Moses, Joshua, Deborah, Samson, Ruth (God instructing this increasing nation, Israel, how to relate to Him by way of social structures, priests, prophets, and Scripture.) one & 2 Samuel, one & 2 Kings, 1 & 2 Chronicles…Samuel, Saul, David, Solomon (Israel transitions into a monarchy. God leads His individuals thru the office of the earthly king. Israel splits into two kingdoms – northern kingdom of Israel, southern kingdom of Judah.) Major & Small Prophets…Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Jonah, Malachi (The track-record of the kings continues to spiral downward. God raises up prophets and sends them to the kings to speak His word and address their wayward character. Some kings listened, most didn’t. Assyria invades, defeats and deports the northern kingdom in 722. Babylon invades, defeats and deports the southern kingdom in 586 – this is known as the exile.) Ezra & Nehemiah…Jews return from Babylonian captivity in three waves beginning in 537. Zerubbabel leads the initial group, Ezra the second group, and Nehemiah the third group. The Jews begin rebuilding the temple (under Ezra’s leadership) and then they set themselves to rebuild the walls around Jerusalem (under Nehemiah’s leadership)! Which brings us to the last book of the Previous Testomony – Malachi, written around 430, about 100 years after the first wave of Jews returned from exile, rebuilt the temple and restored the walls. Once you know about your church’s specific requirements, the date and time are set, and the Godparents have agreed; you are ready to send out the invitations. Custom invitations are beautiful and unique, but even store bought invitations are lovely and will work nicely. The main thing is to take the time to send written invitations.

Many people choose to have receptions after the baptism. If you will be having a small affair with close family and friends only, you might want to have it at your home and cater it yourself. If the gathering will be very large, you might want to rent a hall. If your baby will enjoy an individual christening, you can talk to the church about having the reception at their hall immediately after the ceremony. Once these fine details are determined, you can meet with a caterer to discuss menu options. At some point during this process you will need to choose your baby’s christening gown. Some family’s have special, heirloom christening gowns that are actually worn by most of the baby’s. If your family has such a tradition, you can follow it or you can choose to buy an outfit just for your baby. Christening gowns are a little like wedding dresses in that they can be anything from extremely basic and simple to very elaborate and detailed. If you are buying your baby’s christening outfit new, take the time to shop around for the perfect outfit for this special occasion. Finally, you may want to purchase a special gift for the child. You will want to choose something that they can always have to remind them of this occasion. One great choice is a new bible or prayer book. The details of the day; including the Godparents, priest, date and location; can then be added to the book. This would not only be a keepsake, but could also be used by your child throughout his or her life as a guide for making the right choices.
